Dr Pankaj Kr Barman is presently working as a Principal Consultant and HOD – Medical Oncology at Nepal Mediciti Hospital, Nakhu, Lalitpur. He has done his MD- Internal Medicine from Gauhati Medical College & Hospital in 2007 and DNB- Medical Oncology from Army Hospital, Research& Referral, New Delhi in 2012. He was previously associated with Artemis Hospital, Gurgaon and BLK Superspeciality Hospital, New Delhi for 5 years and in B&B Hospital, Kathmandu as a collaborative partner with BLK Cancer Center. He is an active member of American Society of Clinical Oncology( ASCO) and European Society of Medical Oncology ( ESMO) and has received his European Certification in Medical Oncology (ECMO) in 2017 from Madrid, Spain.

Dr Pankaj Barman is a leading name when it comes to cancer treatment in Nepal. He has a decade long experience in the field of medical oncology and has been widely acknowledged by people of Nepal for his versatility and patient centric approach.

Dr Pankaj is specialized in treatment of all kinds of solid tumours with keen interest on breast cancer, lung cancer, gastrointestinal cancer, gynaecological cancer, lymphomas, myelomas and leukemias. His skill lie in chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, hormonal therapy, cancer pain management and palliative care.

He is instrumental in establishing the Nepal Mediciti Cancer Center way back in 2017.

Dr Pankaj has conducted several clinical trials over the years and has been extensively involved in research. He has considerable international exposure , having attended courses and workshops, and visited cancer hospitals of repute worldwide. He has also delivered hundreds of lectures and presentations at conferences and professional meets. 3. Published review article on Cervical Cancer Vaccination, Cardiac complication of retinoic acid syndrome, Spontaneous tumor lysis syndrome in Paediatric Burkitt’s Lymphoma, HIV and Multiple myeloma, ABMT in relapsed & refractory NHL, and many others in National Journals.

Presently doing research on - Incidence of triple negative breast cancer among Nepalese women, Frequency of BRCA 1&2 mutation in a population based sample of young breast cancer cases, Clinical profile , mutational co-relation and outcome of left sided Vs right sided colonic malignancies in Nepal, Adenocarcinoma lung in smoker Vs Non smoker and mutational c0-relation, 1st line platinum doublet in Adenocarcinoma lung who cannot afford pemetrexed therapy, weekly Vs 3 weekly Paclitaxel/Carboplatin for advanced ovarian cancer and outcome of maintenance hormonal therapy in advanced ovarian cancer in developing country like Nepal.
